It’s been more than a month since Cagayan de Oro has been placed under community quarantine. So far, there are still many people roaming around the city. The public market is now closely monitored by the police and military. Hopefully, people will learn how to follow the protocols of physical distancing and staying at home without the presence of the police and the military. The city government cannot do its job without the participation of the residents.
Meanwhile, relief goods were already distributed to various barangays in the city. However, there are still several families who are still waiting for their share of canned goods and rice.
Starting today, April 20, all residents are required to present a barangay exit pass. Each household is given one pass to be used by any member of the family except senior citizens especially those with serious health conditions. Again, there are still many families who are waiting for their exit passes.
I hope this crisis will end soon. All the front-liners are already exhausted. I hope everyone will just stay home if they can in order to avoid the spread of this virus.
